Samaung SyncMaster 933 monitor, help with setup!

Just replaced my very old CTX crt with a Samsung Syncmaster 933 on my old Dell dimension 4400 which has a 128 Rage pro graphics card! I know it's old but does fine for internet work!! Problem I have is that everyting is 'stretched' in widescreen mode (icons are not square). I have installed the latest driver which came with the monitor which wants a 1360 resloution at 60Hz, which the Rage pro can't manage (only 1024 x 768). Is it possible to get rid of this stretched look? Sorry, monitors are not my thing and any advice would be appreciated.

Its down to the fact your very old gfx card cant support widescreen resolutions, i'd suggest looking for a cheap up to date card, dont cost much these days and can help with image quality alot.
Other options might include using the actual monitors menu's to fix the image.0 -
Sorry as said replace the graphics card for the resolution you now need to support.
You could get it on expenses too .....0
