Hi
Was just talking to my mum over the phone, she wanted me to help her buy her car insurance online as it's cheaper. Went through confused.com, chose the quote we wanted to go for (marks & spencer), clicked through to buy it and it took us to their site. Had to enter some more details and it came up with a completely different price??
How can they do this? What's the point in them being on a comparison site when they result they give on there is completely different to what you will be paying if you click through?
Confused said £139.06 and then legal cover was £21.74 extra, so total of £160.80
Clicked through to M&S and it said the legal cover was £25 and the total was £169.34???

You had to enter additional details so it might have changed the premium, though Legal Expenses tends to be flat rated. Chances are M&S have updated their price and it hasn't been processed though by Confused. If you try calling M&S they might knock the price down for your if you complain/threaten to go else where.0

Different aggregators work in different ways. Some hard code things like LE prices and so when an insurer wants to update them they have to contact the aggregator and advise them to update it.... some aggregators take weeks to do this sort of thing! Others are more advanced and the pricing comes in the XML feed from the insurer so the insurer just needs to update their feed fileAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
