Well everyones on the right track. No drivers are properly installed for the above..hence he has to use the usb as a connection to the net..Nearly there.
Our friend is right if you can get the model number of your pc and visit DELL and download the drivers then fingers crossed all is ok.

If your pc came with a recovery disk the drivers should be on it.

If you are unsure and have a disk from dell try this

    Open control panel

    open the system folder
click on hardware then device manager
right click on the icon which has a yellow exclamation mark on it
    select update driver
select no not at this time then next
put the disk in you have from dell
if the drivers are on that disk then you will be fine

if they arent it will tell you
you can try it again with another disk you have from dell

    hope this helps

I tried this with the 2 yellow ? for vga & vga compatible with all of the cds that came with the computer that had driver on them to no avail

Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • right I've been onto the dell sight & done various things like they sweep your computer for problems & followed the advice - still nothing - I've now emailed them with the problem.

if its any help in throwing light on the prob - before the crash I had 'bejewelled' installed which I played regularly, but after i reinstalled the system it would not reinstall the game, the error message I had was D:/Poppack_setup.exe ??

Did you download and install the graphics card driver as suggested by wonderfullife

D:/Poppack_setup.exe ?? isn't much of an error message.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • well, when Dell did this sweep I downloaded what it suggested, rebooted the PC & reinstalled the game but still not working - I did have a look but there was nothing that said 'graphics card'
