Talk talk or BT - any opinions?

I think the title covers it really. Am moving into a new house, BT booked to come and install a line (not even got a socket at the moment) on 24th December. We're getting the keys a week earlier than planned and BT can't / won't move the installation date forward.
We only want the line for broadband and was wondering whether it's worth giving talk talk a call instead as i understand that they could fit us a line....
Does anyone have any opinions? Experience of a talk talk line and their broadband?
Thanks
Anna

If you cancel the BT install, any date Talk Talk give you will be later than the date you already have, both service providers use Openreach for the install so the date you have is given to the SP by Openreach.I think the title covers it really. TT can install a line for about £30-£40 and you are tied into a 24 month minimum term contract, BT do a free install on a 18 month contract , with a BT line you can use any internet provider you want, that isnt always the case with TT, plenty of comments on sites like this of the relative merits of these companys0 -
one thing i would be very carful about is Talktalk my sisterinlaw has signed up and after a week of no internet and excuses has now found that she is tied into there llu connection if she were to try and reconnect with another provider she's stuck as they tell her theres no MAC code for LLU customers so change to another none LLU ISP you have to move back to BT at a cost that be as much as £124.00 there may be cheaper ways around this but customer service department were less than helpfull when she complained of poor land line connection no we'll check the line for problems ! so just check with them first about migration before you sign .0

Go with Bt, tt will tie you up for 24 months and their bb isn't great. My advise is to get line rental from BT as you've planned now, and signup with o2 for broadband. I think they are offering first 3 months free which works out to be cheaper than most of the providers and they are the fastest n the best in terms of installation, speed and customer care - 24hr free phone. mine was installed within 2 days although they quoted 10 days initallly.
Plus net is owned by BT and they do lot of traffic management and your speed will be resricted most of the day. so defenitely avoid em.
Most people say BT line rental is too hight but if you compare it works out £11.25 with DD and E billing. Sky n all the rest charges around £11.
I'm not a fan of BT but for service and support for the line, they are quicker.
I've signed up with BT credit card and coz most of my spending is on that card I get around £75 discount pa on my BT line rental. I left bt a year back due to a good offer from sky but I'm switch back by next month.0 -

No 3 months free at the moment.
However sign up through Quidco and get at least £50 cashback.0
