British Gas Websaver 5 Discount
Cardew
At present I`m with BG for electricity only on the above tariff.
If I switched to them for gas as well could you explain the following WS 5 discounts.
Electricity customers paying by Monthly Direct Debit will receive a discount off their quarterly Tier 2 consumption charges (and night rates where applicable) of 1.429 p/kWh up to a maximum of £10 (including VAT) per quarter.
Gas customers paying by Monthly Direct Debit will receive a discount off their quarterly Tier 2 consumption charges of 0.196 p/kWh, up to a maximum of £8.75 per quarter.
Dual fuel customers receive a discount on their electricity bill of 0.537 p/kWh off quarterly electricity Tier 2 rates (and night rates where applicable) up to a maximum of £3.75 (including VAT) per quarter appears on the electricity bill.
I can understand the the first two but it`s the bit in blue I`d like an explaination for.
Is this an additional discount of 0.537p on top of the other two discounts of 1.429 for electric and 0.196 for gas?

Alared,
Yes you get all 3 discounts. £40 for elect DD, £35 for gas DD, £15 for dual fuel. - obviously you have to use enough gas and electricity in a quarter.
It is fairly standard BG discount pattern - the Dual Fuel is applied to your Elect a/c0 -
Cardew Thanks for that.
I`ve done my calculations and i would save by switching to this latest tariff WS5 for gas.
So basically to sum it up:
I would receive discount of up £40 a year for electricity, and
up to £35 a year for gas.
And by taking duel fuel another discount of up to £15 a year based on my electricity usage only.0
