Ditching Norton

  • Okay I have uninstalled Norton and now have the windows firewall and Microsoft security essentials. Anyone have a link to download ccleaner? Any opinions on whether that is enough security or should I do something else too?

Did you run the Norton removal programme as suggested?

    Have you thought of Google?

Anywho not wishing to be being unhelpful:D

    I'd also recommend Defraggler

You also need Antimalware so i'd suggest Malwarebytes

That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • Microsoft Security Essentials is supposed to be fairly quick.

I'd recommend doing a fresh reinstall of the OS if it's not too much bother, though. Firstly, it can improve performance on an old system, and secondly, it makes it far easier to install a new antivirus suite - especially as Norton is notoriously difficult to fully uninstall.
