    # Entries must be received by midnight on 31st January 2010. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted or fail to reach the Promoter by the relevant closing date for any reason. Proof of posting or sending is not proof of receipt. Entries via agents or third parties are invalid. Entries become the property of the Promoter and are not returned.
    # Only one entry per person. No entrant may win more than one prize.
    # To enter, write an original piece of copy and describe in no more than 500 words a place you know well. Fill in your personal details via the online form found at https://www.roughguides.com/onabudgetwriter, then email your written entry to the address provided: onabudgetwriter@uk.roughguides.com Entries submitted via email should be sent as a word.doc attachment.
    # Entries will be shortlisted by Rough Guides editorial team and 20-40 successful entrants (entrants that most show a quality for writing travel copy) will be invited to London in March 2010 to take part in a written test which will take approximately half a day. Shortlisted entrants will be required to pay for their travel expenses to and from London. After the test two winners will be selected by a judging panel consisting of the Rough Guides Travel Publisher and an STA representative.
