Friday 11th December - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Morning All,
Friday Finally
Today I have/will:
· Checked online banking – payday, so moved cash around
· Enter comps online
· Daily scratches
· Meals from storecupboards
· Have a LSD – BOGOF offer in Starbucks today….by a coffee and pay using your preloaded card, get another coffee ‘free’ – part of their 12 days of Crimbo thing (might do this, depends on how my day goes)…look at hat’s in town but I might find my other one which I have had for years
· Washing on 30
· Read up on yesterday’s forum
· Sort out food plan for next week
· Read more of my library book
· Check on the weather and decide whether to take a coffee into work with me
Think that is about it but I am sure there is more to do, take care everyone

Morning all
I guess the only moneysaving things I've done today are: bring breakfast to work (use their electric to nuke my readybrek), bring lunch to work (leftover pasta from last night's tea) and come to work 2 hours earlier than I need to because I couldn't sleep and therefore beat rush hour traffic - hence saving fuel.
Feeling very low today....my baby bear Buddy is being put to sleep this afternoon (see post on Pets board)....he's only 7 and I'm absolutely heartbroken
Hope everyone else is well...or as well as can be expected;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0 -

Afternoon everyone,
I'm off to Dublin today for the weekend so it's not going to be a very DFW time but I am really looking forward to it anyway!
Managed to find 38 euros in a drawer at home as well so that was a good a start. Apart from that I have charged my phone at work, got a lift in with OH and I'm going to get a lift from a colleauge (sp?) to the airport not a taxi.
Have a lovely weekend all xxLBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
Hello fellow small thingers
Today I have
- not had a NSD but what I did buy was planned
- will have tea from fridge bits and bobs
- had to borrow from savings account so I can pay music teacher but will pay back on Tuesday which is pay day - I had budgeted for this bill next month but obviously Christmas is coming early for the music teacher too lol!
- DS3s school fair today so had to give him something to spend
- heating off until now but had to put it on - am freezing
- am not going out tonight as planned as am unwell - need tlc a blanket and hot water bottle in addition to the heating! Won't save much money though as was going to a friends house
- need to make a list of all things Christmas I still need to get. A pudding may be helpful! I have made them in the past but, although yummy and good to know you've made them I find they work out quite expensive. This is especially true for Christmas cake - last year only one slice got eaten but DH likes to have one in ( creature of habit - not yet truly on the MSE journey but he doesn't generally know what we have cut back on!) This year he's going to get an individual cube of cake from Sainsburys!!
Belle

Sparkle on Fay!
Nice to see you Millie

Hi to everyone else, especially Candy for starting the thread ( must mention lolly and Lottebear as have named everyone else - nice to see you!)
PPS Welcome 'stupid' - you might want to use a new name as after being on here and getting all the tips and tricks you won't be able to call yourself that for long!
Getting there...slowly!
GC : must do better
NSD: very rare
No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.0 -

Hi everyone
I'm so sorry for your loss Tangledmemories, my thoughts are with you today.
Today I:
1) Worked for 5 hours

We are off to see B in the schoolplay tonight. Not a cheap night out as it will cost nearly £20  but she has worked very hard so we can't miss it. Enjoy your evening, L x0
