Hi Guys,
I recently discovered a set of files in the root of my c: drive and I am quite concerned about them. I'm not sure when they appeared but they are as follows:
90210.exe
apnet.exe
iexplor520.exe
iexplor701.exe
I can't find much information about them on the Internet apart from on sites which claim they are trojans and tell me to buy their virus software to get rid of them. I'm not daft though.
I was just wondering if anyone has come across these before and if so what are they? And if they are viruses how do I get rid of them?
P.s. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate (The test version, not retail).
Thanks!
Chris

TICK these in hijack and click to FIX them ~
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {EBB176D2-AF75-4706-832F-4C8448F72757} (TNSClickerc.Clicker) - http://www.shopandscan.com/TNSClickrc.CAB
then ~
Please run COMBOFIX
Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be)
If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download:idea:0 -
I'd be reviewing your choice of system protection - comodo, adaware, and spybot didn't stop it. Try the kaspersky trial, or mse/avira/avast.
If you want to see what does detect them, and what they are, upload them to http://www.virustotal.com/
before deleting them.!!

Hi,
I did as you asked and fixed those entries with hijack this, however one of them I thought seemed legit. I am a member of a rewards system called shopandscan, signed up a couple of weeks ago, where you scan barcodes of everything you buy and upload the details.
Anywho, I couldn't install COMBOFIX, even tried renaming it to QWERTY but it just kept giving an error saying something like cannot read the file iexplore.exe or something. Could this be something to do with Windows 7? A quick google of the problem told me that combofix was only good fro XP.
I have deleted the 4 exe files now anyway. They have never given me any problems, i was just worried that they were trojans and stealing my details etc. Whether they've hidden themselves elsewhere on my harddrive is a different matter so don't really know what else to do.
Thanks for your help!

Download and run the FREE version of DR WEB
http://www.freedrweb.com/download+cureit/gr/
Turn your anti virus OFF
It will auto QUICK scan
After that set to scan the WHOLE computer and press the 'play' icon
***DO NOT UPGRADE TO FULL VERSION***:idea:0
