  • Thanks folks for all the ideas - I have been to a couple of pubs and asked today, but no luck so far... also the local homebrew shop - nothing less than a pint in volume, been to several supermarkets and the off-license, - all suitable sized bottles are either flip-cap or too expensive... (or too big - vinegar bottles are too big sadly!) I have a couple more pubs to ask...

60p each is a bit dear... nice bottles though!

    Thanks for your replies though!!

i know it sounds strange - but have you tried Ikea? my daughter made cranberry sauce and chutneys last year for hm gifts and she bought the little screwtop jars in Ikea. and asked for themback when they were empty! check their catalogue or website hun - they may still sell them and they look about the right size for you.
  • I bought new [empty] medicine bottles from our local pharmacy to bottle my sloe gin in last year - I think they charged me 25p or 35p each.

I had to turn on the charm :rolleyes:and convince them that I was making gifts and was not intending to sell them..and they only let me have 10 but they were perfect for me :D

another thought - ebay! everything in the world is on there - not only that but you can get them wholesale too! sorry fc i didnt realise you wanted bottles rather than wide neck jars. have a look on sites that sell to aromatherapists etc. too.
