PS3 YLOD - 2nd Occurance!

Hi
I've already posted this as a reply to another thread - so apologies for that...

I (or my son to be precise) have a PS3 that has broken for the 2nd time. First time I contacted Sony and to cut a long story short - paid £145 to replace the broken one with a refurbished model with a 3 month warranty. This was in June of this year.
Today I return from work - only to be met by my son with a very long face - saying the PS3 has yet again experienced the 'Yellow Light of Death' problem
I am reluctant to fork out another £145 - but what can I do? Is my beef now with Sony as I received the refurbished model from them? Or from Game - the supplier of the original?

thanks in advance

  • You have received a referbished model from the manufacturer with the warranty given by the manufacturer, therefore your "beef" lies with the manufacturer.

Contact Consumer Direct, as if it is a known technical fault with this unit, then you should not have to be paying for its repairs.
  • I would try contacting Sony and see what resonse you get.
