Items not delivered

Hi
Ordered 3 dreses on MOnday 30th Nov for next day delivery. Didnt come on Tuesday and had still not arrived when I left the house on Wednesday to travel to the black tie do i was going to and needed the outfits for!!

Arrived home Friday night and had note pushed through door saying 'left by bin as instructed' I live in a terraced house with open garden and my bin is at the front of the house. Parcel not there.

Dresses were worth over 300 pound cant believe courier would leave without a signature!!

Tried to contact company on the Friday left on hold. They were closed at the weekend and despite ringing several times every day this week still cant get hold of them but all three dresses have been charged to my credit card.

I have now sent an email that I await response to but where do I stand legally.

Try a chargeback?

Try speaking to the company and advising non receipt.

Tried to contact them both by email and phone. Phone at least half a dozen times but end up on hold for 30mins plus...

The company is a high street store with a good reputation for selling 'expensive' ladies dresses and occassion wear.

When I ordered on line I wasnt asked to leave any instructions for delivery and no one called me to ask where they could leave them. You would thinks with goods totallying over 300 pound they would need a signature or am i just being to niave.

Can my credit card company help me?
