Well I spent my first £3.12 of my £100 today on a few craft bits. I spent 89p on a big canvas offcut to make some bags, and got felt to make purses. Wandered the sales and found a dress in new look that should have been £28 reduced to £3 because some of the seam had come loose! Not sure whether it's a keep or sell yet though...2011 Wins: Recipe book
Big thanks to all comp posters x

thistle + 2cats = not sure to be honest, they've only just changed that today so no-one knows what will happen, i suggest waiting till you can withdraw, then withdraw and see what happens the following day0

Right I have started to think what I have that I can sell on ebay to start my money making year but unfortunately I have not sold anything on ebay before so am not sure where to start.
I understand the photograph and the description, and the online side of it but am struggling with the post and packaging - so much so it is putting me off doing it
So please can anyone offer any advice for starting up and any reccomendations of who to use, and how do you estimate postage costs?
Thank you!
This is what I did when I just started with eBay:
1. Read and watch and see what others are doing - eBay itself gives handy tips and there is a forum.
2. weigh my goods before listing them - this can make the difference between profit and loss.
4. Start with low cost item - as a test
3. Learn from your mistakes.Turn £100.00 into £10,000.00; Member #153

The amounts I stated are purely a guideline or target, however much you want to make is up to you.If you need any motivation, the one and only bit of advice I will give you is:
get a copy of 'the Secret' by Rhonda Byrne
read it,watch it,use it.......;)[/QUOTE]
Great ! ...........will this mean that "The oceans ebb and flow for Me. The birds sing for Me and The sun rises and it sets for Me" ? :rotfl:As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0 -

Hi, yeah i sell on e-bay at the moment but will get my own site at some point. I buy from anywhere and everywhere. Mainly on the net from high street trusted stores. i was stung for £80 once on ebay but these things happen. Thinking about it I brought a lot of Woolworths stock last year @ 70% off which helped me out and moved the business forward quicker then expected.
You can buy from anywhere and make money if you buy the right items. The trick is looking for value. For example Tesco are selling a pack of 15 Fusion razor blades + foam thing for £8.99. These were selling for £19.99 before xmas. I have brought 3 packs to last me through 2010.
Now im not suggesting you will make money buying and selling these but thats a cheap why to buy Fusion blades. The same principle should be applied to all purchases. Value is the key to making money and value will only be found through market research.
For car booters suncream is one to look at. Its cheap now and if the sell by date is long enough it will sell in the summer. Suncream is too heavily to sell on ebay and make a profit so not one for me. The key is determining value of it now and predicting the vaule of it in the summer, then working out if there is enough profit there to make it worth while buying.
Hope these is useful, slow day in the office.0
