Emailed him a link to this site and told him there are other ways to sort things out

I've just emailed him too, saying just get to money saving expert! Cos he'll be amongst hundreds of people trying to get debt free and who are in the same, if not worse situations than he is. I also gave him the number for national debtline , although i'm sure he's been down that road...but might help to talk to someone in the first instance.

Hi, i had the TV Licence people come banging on my door, saying i havent got a tv licence, i invited him in he saw my tv and told me i need a licence, i told him to take a closer look as i dont even have an aerial on the roof, so even if i wanted to watch TV i cant.

    hello everyone

please add me to the list :o

i've been trying to wade through as much of this thread as possible. I'm an avid thinker of ways to make more money and am thought of as the 'del boy' of the family, which for a 27 year old female doesn't always sit well with everyone ha!

I completely agree with the original poster's points about trying new things and if unsuccessful learning from your jaunts. I've dabbled in wholesale for just over a year and as yet haven't found the key to making regular money, however, i have just ordered another batch of something and hope this will be the 'money spinner'!:rotfl:

Looking forward to keeping up with you all :d

p.s it's my very old birthday today booohoooo :(

    happy birthday caseyface!!! ;)

Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.

Do they still hassle you? WE just have a basic tv, no built in freeview. We have a sky box having just cancelled sky (can sell this :T) Think i have paid most of my TV licence for the year (5 x £28 or something from sept 09) so am i right in thinking ive paid it until next Sept so i can watch freeview until then?

  • Word of warning- if you've got OPI nail varnish, don't list it on ebay unless you want it pulled.

Copyright on the image apparently- which was just a bottle on a plain white background.

Not having a god day, and still only made £26 :(:(
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

If you are on Direct Debit you will be around 6 months in advance ... you can cancel it and claim back the advance payments ... careful though as they can send you the last month and then make you claim in writing the other months they owe you depending on the time of year i.e. you might think you have your rebate you requested but they may have cannily omitted a number of months (they did this to me when I canceled one last year). Stay alert with this lot ...

If you just bought it outright then you can cancel it and get a refund for the unsused portion (if you don't need it). Hope this made some sense.

Edit: Oh, and yes they still hassle you.

  • Hi Happytails, They still send letters telling me to pay, i gave up replying to them as they dont take any notice, i just wait now until they knock at my door, (which dosent happen very often, maybe once every 2 years)

Im not sure about the freeview, but id imagine you can still watch something as you seem to have paid up in advance, im not 100% sure tho.

Hi, I used to do barefoot books and want to sell off some of my old stock. Just wondering if any advice whether to use amazon or ebay?
Also on ebay can you list books using isbn and stock photos - I can't seem to find a way to do it.
    Thanks

Yeah we pay by DD. Only moved in here in Sept so have made 4/5 payments (The 5th payment is going out any day now.) Is it just a simple £x amount divided by how many months you dont have a aerial? for us it would be 7 months, so £145/7 ? iygwim?
