E.On Switch

After experiencing terrible Customer Service with E.On that included them amending my online tarifff to a more expensive version without my knowledge and demanding an increase in my direct debit by 110% I decided to switch to EDF in November 09.
I received a telephone call today from a CS representative fronm E.On asking why they had recieved a request to transfer my supply to a competitor. I explained the above reasons to the CS representative who was taken aback as to why I had decided to switch and could not believe that EDF was cheaper. With this he asked whether I wanted to lower my monthly DD but I said I had had enough of E.On and wanted to change anyway. Defiant, he still tried to assure me that E.On were always going to be the cheapest energy company around and I was silly changing supplier.
Seething I asked him "How long have you been involved with the circus?"
Bemused he told me "I don't know what you mean". I then responded " Well you lot are the biggest bunch of clowns I have ever known".
The call was abruptly ended !!!

If I were him I'd have hung up on you too. He has a job to do and it isn't listening to people like you hurling abuse down the phone. Does it make you feel "big" having a pop at the people answering the phones?0 -
I know he has a job to do but it was his attitude that annoyed me. It was arrogant beyond belief. It was like "We are the cheapest and you are stupid leaving us". Especially as I had compared suppliers based upon my exact actual annual useage in KwH rather than the less accurate DD monthly amount.0

Hi Duffers4768,
I am sorry that you have had a bad time with E.ON, your tariff should not have been changed without notification of some sort. Your Direct Debit should have been calculated to reflect the amount of energy that you use and include a debit balance if there was one.
The representative that has called you definitely should not be speaking to customers like that, they are there to make sure you are happy to change supplier and see if their is anything else E.ON can offer you.
