Hello technological geniuses and mere mortals,
My mate recently bought a 360 bundled with hitman and pgr3. When he played pgr3 it was fine but the second time it started playing up after the first lap. The ground disappears and building appear in the middle of the track which makes it impossible to play. The game still runs and you can drive around, you just can't see where you are going! Hitman still works fine though.
Is this a problem with the game disk, or the graphics card or something else?
Any ideas?
Cheers in advance!

I sometimes get loss of background and scenery but it's usually when the console is overheating and it very soon afterwards locks up and has to be restarted. Could be a problem with the disk but IMO i would be more likely to be the console or possibly the graphics chip inside overheating.0

It happens straight away, nearly always after one lap, even when the console has been off all night. It is not boxed in anywhere, so it has plenty of air. It is also strange that it did not happen on the first day that he played it.0

Thanks for finding that thread for me. I have told my mate to take the game and the console back to Game because of it, so cheers!0 -
They swapped it without even opening the box apparently!0

I've just been round to play it and it is workin fine. In fact, the graphics looked better than before and the box that he got had newer documentation including and xbox live guide and a bit about the bt deal at the moment, which were not in the original. I assume this measn he has a newer batch model. Have they updated the newer ones? Or were the better graphics just my imagination?
It is amazing by the way. Especially the wireless controllers!0 -
the only diffrence between Xbox 360's at the moment is the DVD tray, some are running with Hitachi drives and some have Samsung drives, those are the only diffrences i know of, also if you ever play the console and get the "3 Red Lights Of Death" (basically the ring of light will illuminate red except the top right quarter) it is a 99% certainty that your GPU is overheating so just be carefull where you use the console because microsoft are very strict on exchanges and refunds because of this as they say that this is only caused if you dont use the console as per there guidelines, (sadly i lost a 360 because of this and had to fork out for a new one)0
