I complained the Ombudsman and MBNA offered me £695 off my debt and proved to me they take advantage of rules and regulations to make money. I just wanted to do the same to benefit me. It seems many people have used the CCA 1974 to have debt reduced I had hoped to do the same.
I personally disagree with the way that the Credit Card companies hike their interest rates, and congratulate you on being offered some money back by MNBA.
However as for the rest of it, you borrowed the money, you spent it, and now you want to get out of your responsibilities based upon legislation (and my understanding is that since 2005 internet transactions are acceptable evidence).
At the time MNBA gave you the credit card (and for them to offer you back 695 pounds you must have had a considerable limit), you were grateful to them for granting you credit. Now that you have spent their money they are big bad monsters.
If squatters moved into your house and used legislation to stay there, you would be whining like a little girl, but they would only be using the same methodology you are using. But as its working in your favour this time it's ok
You lost my sympathy when you admitted that you are just on a freeloading trip trying to get out of meeting your responsibilities. Personally I hope you lose big time.
PS to All Other Posters.
I have no problems with non enforceability and admire the work NID does on your behalf, but this guy is clearly admitting that he just sees it as an easy get out clause.0 -

There's no such thing as "squatters rights" in Scotland, assuming from OP's name he's north of the border.
Unless his user name refers to a multi-coloured prophylactic?
Hopefully OP embraces the rest of the moneysaving information on the site and manages to spend less and spend wisely so he can repay as soon as possible the card that's leeching money out his pocket in interest."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
