Incorrect info on parking fine.

I got a parking fine tonight when I parked on some waste ground next to the chinese I was popping in to for some grub. Bad luck aside, when I look at the ticket it says it happened at 12.43 which is clearly not true.

Is this something I can challenge on?

And also it says I got it for parking adjacent to a dropped footway, what does that mean? I was at least 5m from any curb.

  • Post up the pcn , remove personal details, and any photo's you have. See FAQ for how to. There are some confusing aspects which pics and pcn could make clear.

Right, here's the scans of the ticket. I had to split it into 4, the front is the first 2 and the back is the 2nd two.

I don't have a photo of the area, but I'll try to find it on google earth or something.
  • Can you prove where you were at 12.43? if so then the contravention did not occur if you were nowhere near. Can't understand the dropped footway bit, but might be immaterial subject to where you were.

Thanks to the amazingness of the internet (well, google) here is the actual place where the offence took place.

Um, no I can't prove where I was (I had the day off annoyingly!!) but surely if the time is wrong on the parking officer's machine everyone else will be challenging it too?

I would normally be at work at this time (as would everyone) so would I need proof?

I was parked about where that green car in in the first link. There were no other cars there at the time.
  • I really can't see what the ceo was on, surely that's private land unless he knows something else. Pity you weren't shopping it would have helped, anyway appeal that the contravention did not occur and then its up to them to prove you were at fault not the other way round. Hopefully someone else will confirm or correct my advice.
