Victorian Farm was absolutely lovely yet again !
Yes, I really enjoyed it too. Looking forward to the next episode :D
  • Here we go...the Pound Shop Infomercial programme is starting.

And if the Linda 'attend the opening of an envelope' Robson pops up, I'm switching off...

Edit: HOLD ON! How the $*@&$ did she manage to shop in Poundland without a 30 minute queue, no stuff falling off the aisles on to passers by, screaming children, grumbling pensioners, moaning MSE person (me) and without the PDQ machine crashing?

  • Laughed out loud when the oober rich woman was telling you how to make a salmon mousse for 10 and it would only cost £3.00 for the salmon in poundland plus 8 eggs.
Honestly did she really lower the tone in Stroud or is it Strood to the jumped up woman at the beginning

Thanks for the reminder about these 2 progs OP, I managed to catch them and enjoyed them both.

The fact that 1200 people protested about the new discount store but over 2000 people went into the shop the day it opened rather gave a lie to the idea that what Stroud really wanted was marks and sparks or next :D

Victorian Farm was brilliant, as all the programmes have been, looking forward to the rest of the series. ;)

and thanks for the heads up re grow your own drugs :)

runs off to make a note for next weds

A bit OT but has anyone read The Thrift Book, by India Knight? Thats the funniest thrift book I've ever read. I recommend it for comedy value only. (get it from the library).
    Yes! Thrift for the well-off.

In the "Christmas for £1" programme, I was surprised that people were talking about how much it was costing to buy all the decorations "this year". Surely we're not the only family who put them away after Christmas and get them out again the following year

And yes, I'd love to know how come the pound shops were empty enough for the filming :D

The pound shop program was interesting, but I think they should do a documentary about people who already live thrifty lives (like the people who post here!) as a look into the money saving lifestyle..Maybe a certain Mr Lewis would be a good presenter for it.
  • hmm missed this, and it looks really interesting! just checkout out the itv i-player but it's one of the programmes that isn't on it! typical
