Humax Freesat channel naming question

Hi

Just had a freesat box installed. Works great but the channel names (well numbers) are all over the place.

Is there anyway of changing them? I can't see it in the manual. What I mean is
BBC1 = channel 967 but I want it to be channel 1

If that can't happen then putting the channels in the order I want (not numerical or alphabetical would be the next best thing.

Thanks

Jane

  • Did you input your correct postcode including the space during setup?

Sounds like you've got the wrong postcode entered.

Try running a channel scan again (it will ask you for your postcode again)

I paid someone to install it (not moneysaving I know) and he pointed out the postcode was important. I just checked as its stored and it still says the correct code...

There are lots of regional 'BBC1' channels, I'm sure one could well be 967.

    But what channel is 101?

All the BBC (and ITV) regions are transmitted over satellite, you can tune into all of them in the 900s if you like. The postcode you put in tells the box which BBC regions to give you at 101 and 102, and which ITV region to put at 103 (and I think Channel4 at 104 too).
The 100s are where you should be viewing mostly, and these should appear in a logical order, 105 being five, etc. Have a look at the Guide to see the order of the channels.

  • Hi all,

Just had a freesat dish fitted by someone who knows what they're doing (my efforts resulted in lots of holes in the wall but no signal!). Anyway all set-up but the channels are not where they should be, for example BBC HD is listed as being on channel 108 but on my system that channel has ITV3+1.
    Can anyone advise.

Gallimh15 - what Freesat box are you using? This thread was originally about the Humax Foxsat HDR, which is a Freesat (BBC & ITV, not the Sky package, and not a free satellite box like the type sold in Lidl/Aldi/Maplin).
BBCHD should indeed be 108. Try searching for channels again, through the Menu button, or restore factory settings and start again. I take it you have a good signal?
