NFU Mutual is where I would start! we live out in the country and they are not the cheapest insurers to begin with but they cover a lot of stuff other insurers dont. For example on our house and contents it covers the cost of landscaping the garden in case of livestock invasion etc.
Before you all laugh you think you dont need it until you open the curtains one morning to find a herd of highland cattle eating the roses :rotfl:
They also have truly fantastic customer serviceFree/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
I would agree with the NFU recommendation, you might find it cheaper in the long run to also insure your home with them and have the tractor covered on that (Depending on the type of tractor).
Alternatively why have you bought a tractor, is it a general purpose tractor or is it a tractor for just mowing the lawn of your own garden0 -
Or is it a vintage tractor - http://www.nfumutual.co.uk/farmers/vintage-tractor-insurance.htm
The only other firm I can think of off the top of my head is AIUA - http://www.towergateunderwriting.co.uk/zones/agricultural--rural/farm-motor-vehicle-insurance.aspx
Of the two, I would go with NFU every time for this kind of thing though.0 -

It is like a proper tractor but smaller,my brother bought it initially to use to pull a gang mower to cut the land, but since then he has bought a 'ransomes' all in one machine,so being the sod he is he passes it to me to sell(he likes giving me a challenge:mad:)
but lo and behold I have a buyer for it in Belgium but must register it here first:rolleyes:
By the way Dacouch, thanks for the other info;)IMOJACAR

If you need to register it with the DVLA and need road cover for it, then is probably best to use NFU or at a push AIUA who normally use Aviva.
Bear in mind the other advice I gave you0
