Can they do this?

While my mum was away, British Gas man knocked the door, so he was full of pants, but anyway, he asked me to sign something, which I didnt, and he asked me to sign it as my mum (basically he wanted me to sign documents, that I havent read or nowt, as my mums signature....- to be honest the last time I did do my mums signature was back in my school days to get out of P.E, but I knew this was not like school).... I said I wont sign anything that me nor my mum hasnt read... with that he went, but ever since my mum has been indated with phone calls from BG.... She managed to catch them yesterday (I think).

She isnt happy they asked me to sign her name on something... But can BG or any other company bully you like that?

No they can't force your hand to create a signature - that would be assault.

You shouldn't be forging some one elses signature ever, even if it was years ago the last time you admit to having done so.

Anyone is allowed to ask you to sign something if they want, and you are allowed to decline. You can also be asked to sign 'per procurationem' (effectively on behalf of) which you may do if you have be given such authority, but you shouldn't ever be forging some one else's signature. Again you always have the option of declining.

Now where is this bully you speak of, and what exactly has he done for you to give him such a title?

My mum knows I used to do it in school, I admit to it once I left school, and she was ok with it (I never did it to get on trips or nowt like that, just to get out of PE, cause of personal reasons).


Cardew I have no idea, they just wanted to talk to my mum, but it was like they were calling every single day.... *hits head on wall*.... the document they wanted me to sign I refused to look at and sign cause I dont do that type of thing without my mum being consulted. As the gas and electric is in here name, I wouldnt do nowt.

That doesn't make it ok. It is still forgery!

If your mother knew of and condoned such behaviour when you were younger, then that is possibly why you don't know it is wrong.

If true, then she should be thoroughly ashamed of herself! How were you supposed to learn right from wrong with such poor examples being set by your elders and supposedly betters.

I had to write to BG as a Guy asked me to let him come in and look at my meter, he didn't say he was a salesman, I smelt a rat with his vague answers and I said NO WAY was he coming IN!!

BG HQ said he no longer worked for them.
