Produce still shots from a DVD with Windows media centre

I'm appealling for help with a technical issue.

I have some film taken with a digital camcorder and now transferred to DVD. I want to select some of the individual frames/stills to use as images (ie photos).

I have windows media centre and cannot see a way to do this, and have been trawling the web for hours trying to solve this.

Please help before my head explodes!!!

Thanks

You can capture individual images by using a specific dvd program. I use cyberlink power dvd and have also used windvd. There are probably more. You may even have one installed as they are often included in software bundles. I am unfamiliar with the media centre edition so cant help you there sorry.

Have done some research , there seems to be one called capturex.
    Has anyone used it?

I really surprise that windows media player doesnt do this - maybe it does and I'm just being thick?

If you have Media Player that can play a DVD you would in all likelyhood have a DVD playing program that acts as a plugin (codecs) so just have another hunt in your programs list to see if anything is there. :)

    I maybe totally off tho.
