My original point is that these supermarkets are trying to be our friends and offer these so called bargains but as pointed out throughout this thread until just before the world cup Stella was sold in 330ml bottles, I buy a crate fairly regularly, a similar 2 for £16 was done over Xmas from all the big SMs they do have a major say in how goods are sold and packaged thats why they are so rich. I just hate being conned!!!! The best example is the BOGOF rip off where all of a sudden your product shoots up in price then they put big signs up saying BOGOF A 200g of back bacon retails at 99p then it becomes £1.99 offereing a BOGOF so you are getting 2 x 200g for £1.99 which is a penny more expensive but still mr & Mrs Gullible thinks they are getting a good deal "Because the SM says so in its big flash advert" It's so damn annoying and I am graeful to all who contributed to this rip off.

Stella boast in there advertising about being expensive.
You can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.

Good lager and good bitter are both very good.
I rate European lager as enjoyable as bitter.
    Happy chappy

Refuse to drink any bottled lagers now that are not brewed in the location they say they come from. So no more Michelon, becks, grolsh, etc for me.

Isn't that a bit pathetic? Surely you should consume something because you like it, not where it is made..

I recently brought my two boys a few crates of Stella from France, thinking that I was doing them a favour, and was greeted with hoots of derision. It's all bilgewater, brewed and canned/bottled in this country by one of our conglomerates. I couldn't believe I had been so daft, but there it was on the packaging. Mind you, it was a quarter of the price that it would have been here. Food for thought.
I just wonder, if you went into a bar in Leuven, where it originated, would you still get the genuine article, which, let's face it, was a pretty good lager

We are nearly all into the world cup fever and a nice cold Stella helps the results seem far more acceptable with a cold one in your hand BUT those rip off supermarkets are at it again. I buy a box of Stella as and when I need them but the attraction of buy one box for £9.99 or two for £16 You know the top 4 supermarkets I mean. What they fail to tell you is that they have given shorter measures down from 330 ml bottles to 284ml so actually you arent getting a bargain at all.............. Should I be surprised. Every time I look at someone looking at the offer I quite openly tell them of the typical supermarket rip off. Be warned of these rip off bargains PLEASE!!!!!!!

Its foul beer made by ICI in Belgium or worse still under licence in the UK by BP, best buy as far as I'm concerned is 10 x 25cl Asda German Lager meeting the Kraut Purity Laws £3.68 - bargain and no thick head
