ok, I've had a drink so may be reading this wrong.
How can you claim the money back when all the op is doing is complaining about the size of the botte?
The item was incorrectly priced or labelled on the shelf.
was it? Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

vyvwalters wrote:We are nearly all into the world cup fever and a nice cold Stella helps the results seem far more acceptable with a cold one in your hand BUT those rip off supermarkets are at it again. I buy a box of Stella as and when I need them but the attraction of buy one box for £9.99 or two for £16 You know the top 4 supermarkets I mean. What they fail to tell you is that they have given shorter measures down from 330 ml bottles to 284ml so actually you arent getting a bargain at all.............. Should I be surprised. Every time I look at someone looking at the offer I quite openly tell them of the typical supermarket rip off. Be warned of these rip off bargains PLEASE!!!!!!!
there are only few brands left who do 330ml.

Agree with OP, the constant fiddling with bottle sizers across all the beers just doesn't make for a level playing field.
With regard Stella, it just is not what it used to be. It used to be brewed in it's original home town and was expensive as a result. Now, it is brewed up the road from me in Burton upon Trent and yet they still charge the same amount. It's UK water not european water and it makes a difference.
Refuse to drink any bottled lagers now that are not brewed in the location they say they come from. So no more Michelon, becks, grolsh, etc for me.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
So I am not the only person getting annoyed by this ! Over the past year they have changed case sizes (from 24 to 20 and sometimes 18) and bottle sizes as noted above - this is clearly designed so that it is more difficult to keep up with the price comparison (yes, I know some supermarkets indicate price per litre but not all do).
As noted, go for the price per litre (either indicated or calculate it) as there are still good deals to be had  .

Number crunching with Stella
Box of 20 bottles at Tesco, 284 ml, 2 for £16, £8.00
20 * 284ml = 5.68l. Equals 1.41 per litre.
Box of 18 bottles at Aldi, 330ml, £8.99
18 * 330ml = 5.94l. Equals 1.51 per litre.

has anyone noticed the increasing variety of sizes that beer is now available in, for bottled beer i've seen 660ml, 500ml, 330ml, 300ml, 284ml, 275ml, 250ml & 207ml sizes.
I know supermarkets display price per litre on the shelves but its still a nightmare ! can anything be done about it?Jertzy x
