Selling a Number Plate...Seeking advice
Comments
-
Am I missing something? Talking to a guy who lives near me he mentioned in passing that his car number plate was 'special'. There didn't seem anything at all special about it so I said "What's so special?" He said WRT - that's my initials. I said how did you get it. He replied I paid X£'s for it. Nobody in this world would know that this man has paid X£'s for this plate so what did he do it for, apart from having, as they used to say, more money than sense.0

what's the significance of OOP btw? (except for spelling POO backwards?)

I tried to sell a 'personalised' plate from a car I bought with it on for 2 years through a couple of the national sites. One advertised it at £995 and offered to return about £800 to me, the other offered to return me £600, can't remember how much they advertised it for. After 2 years of no interest whatsoever, I sold it on ebay within a few days for £275. I was happy - the buyer was happy. Granted, your plate is a bit different to the one I had, but within about 3 months of advertising, the national sites were all suggesting price reductions to sell it, none of which worked. But, they don't cost anything to try.
The other alternative is that your mum could transfer it on to her current car..0 -
She did think about it however she'd much prefer the cash!
The plate is OOP574 so think it could appeal to a few people...just need to get the advertising right.
Then it's an April 1954 car, not 1956, and was registered in Birmingham.
What is wrong with the car? The car and plate together will be worth more than the plate or car alone."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
