You may find this helpful if your not happy with the supplier they suggest and / or the lap top

but when they say value it, would they value it as a second hand laptop or wouldthey value it from the price it was paid new0

They would work out what the equivalent new model is and offer you this. As its a lap top they can probably offer you a lap top that costs circa £400 and it have the same spec as a lap top that cost £600 18 months ago.
The suppliers do not always offer you the same manufacturer as they can be influenced by which manufacturer gives them the best discount etc. They would then normally offer to either supply the lap top or send vouchers for someone like PC World0 -
ok thank you, yeah if it came to replacement, as long as i got something the same i would be well chuffed and if its quick0

Its unusual now for policies not to do new for old, so you would get an equivelant spec to the one you have just dropped.
When we had an issue with the tv that was accidental damage the insurance company did it all by phone, arranged for a replacement to be delivered and I just paid the excess by card over the phone. It was with me within 10 days.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0
