Probably nothing. Did they quote a price to repair the item or to investigate it?0

I specifically asked if the pc was worth the bother...they said £60 + vat...thats what it cost....for nothing as it turns out.0

I think it will all depend on what you were quoted for... if you were quoted £60 + VAT to Repair the problem, and it has not, then you are entitled to at least a partial refund.
However they may also have charged you a diagnostic charge which may make up part of the bill. You may not be able to recover this.
I think it would fall under Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982

Have a look at their T&Cs if they have any. They may have clause stating they can't guarantee to fix if the product is beyond repair.0
