Refund from Debenhams Online

Options
I would welcome members thoughts on this one. My wife ordered from Debs online and returned two of the items that were lduly collected by their courier. Some time passed but eventually after a few emails we got a reply that the refund was in progress for those two items. The only problem is only the value of one of the items has actually been refunded to our account, leaving the amount short by about £35. After a few more emails Debs have asked us to provide copies of our bank statements from the the original debit to the present day, some 3 months worth!. Can they do this?? Surely it is up to them prove they have paid us, not to us to prove they haven't? I am not keen sending private information to them like this.

  • I would e-mail advising that you are not going to provide your bank details to anyone and request that they provide you with proof that both refunds were actioned...you're right - they need to prove to you that the refund was done.
