NTL v2000 dect phone driving me nuts

Hello
Would very much appreciate help with my above phone ntl v2000 cant stop answer machine kicking in also cant erase messages. My instructions have disappeared (4 kids in the house) any help on sourcing manual or instructions would stop me from chucking all 4 out (phones not kids mmmmm i will reconsider that) isnt it warm.

Alot of manufacturers have manuals on their websites for electronic equipment like this. Sadly, it appears that NTL isn't like the rest. If it had been a BT branded device, you would probably find the document you're after on BT's site.
However, a Google reveals that other people are in the same boat as you. See this post on Cable Forum.0 -
Hi we have the exact same phone as you.
press the clear/ mute key
then press 8
then press clear mute again
the answering machine should be off. do the same to turn it back on.

Thanks to both chilli dog and donnydave gotta be a record for response and both very useful many thanks, i can now get aphone call without the answering thingy kickin in.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
