Fraudulent Websites - teethwhitening

OMG I nearly cried this morning when I looked at my bank account to find £57 taken off. I was bored one morning and came across free samples and then this website called consumer-tips-weekly.
I thought this looked great and showed house wife with great cheap tip for white teeth!!
Simply the plan is 2 websites Clean white and something else, you fill in all your details and then youget your "1 month free trial".
Now apparently even if you cancel, without sending back product you still get charged. I Have cancelled and am still getting charged by lots of different companies with their phone number in reference which puts youthrough to people who can't speak English.
If you trialled a bar of soap and then decided you didn't want tobuy it what would you do.
My bank Halifax are ebing very good and have cancelled card. They did however suggest I waited 1 month before going through fraud but I decided to put in fraud report today.
Have looked back over website...have a look yourself. They give youfree trial info then screeds of reviews and then at the bottom loads of T&C's which are totally at odds with what is advertised.
Oh !!!! how could I have been so stupid!

Theres a saying: 'If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!'
I only give my credit card details to known websites who use SSL. Just be grateful that you only lost 57 quid.. it could have been much worse!0 -
I know, in total it is about £100, which Ireally can't afford just now. ANd as for the saying how many times have I heard that recently, this is widespread. I don't know what will happen with me but I really hope people get wind of these people and stop signing up!0

Have Halifax credited your account with the payments that have been taken out?
A similar thing happened to me a couple of month back, although I did not sign up to any websites or give out my card details. Some how someone has getting hold of my bank details and made fraudulent transactions online. I noticed a few days later when my card was declined trying to top up my mobile phone. I thought it was strange so I checked my online banking and noticed a few transactions that I did not make.
I went straight to my nearest Halifax branch and there was a note on my account from the fraud team. They had noticed before I did - hence why my card was declined. They noticed a few other fraudulent transactions which were attempted but failed and that put a block on my account.
As serious as this is, nothing seems to have been done about it. I did get all the transactions credited back to my account but the fraud team have not contacted me since so I dont think they are investigating into it to find out who this person is or how they got hold of my card details.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0
