    Any soak away is a potential problem in the years ahead unfortunately there are times when its the only option, one other possible solution is to use it as a water feature by creating a dip and filling it with indigenous plantlife which likes its feet wet.

    ...i'm after holes above front door to pour boiling oil on Joho's/energy company salesmen, portculis, drawbridge and arrow slits to pick off asbo'kids (double up as gas fire vents for gas reg compliance lol) :rotfl:

    Yep and what the OP did was dig one which was bound to fill up with water irrespective of where the water table lies!!!
