  • The benefits and tax credits forum is here for advice not personal opinion.

I assume the OP wanted advice and not the opinion of someone who just wishes to scare them in to thinking they will be prosecuted.

Have to admit, it came across that way. Don't worry though there are plenty on here who do the same. At least you posted that you didn't mean it to come across that way. Others are too stubborn/stupid to even do that.:D

according to a very senior executive I have been delaing with the the Working Tx credits office recently ( about a serious complaint on behalf of my disbaled son who claims wtc) you can only claim wtc for 4 weeks following leaving a job
she told me this last Thursday 3rd december when we were discussing my sone claim as his job is only a temporary job - she told me he can claim for 4 weeks "run on" benefit before claiming JSA.
I suspect you will have to repay quite a bit of money

Is this right, that you can claim 4 weeks of working tax credit after leaving a job? would this apply to an Xmas temp job?
  • When you stop working you will receive an additional 4 weeks of WTC entitlement.

Although the job you were in needs to have been (or expected to have been) for a continuous period of at least 4 weeks. JSA(income based) and IS normally wouldnt be paid during the 1st four weeks after you leave work so WTC covers this period.
