Hi
I'm doing a car boot for the first time in, ooh about 15 years and I'm stuck on pricing.
Curtains - M&S and Next (exc cond, hardly used) - 51x54 - £2 a pair? Views please!
Single Kids Duvet/pillowcase sets - Bob The Builder, Nemo, etc - £1?
Double duvet/pillowcase sets - £1.25?
Would appreciate feedback as to whether these are too high/ok/too low prices.
Maybe back asking for more help, as still gathering stuff up!
Thanks in advance.

At those prices tell me where the car boot is !!!
I'd be inclined to up the prices, then as the day progresses if you haven't sold them, then reduce in price.
Remember that whatever price you put on them people will want to barter so always add that to the price.
I've found if I have things priced at 10p they ask if I'll take 5p !!0 -
I'd at least double those prices. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

Wiggins, shall we organise a coach trip to Ali's boot sale??!!0

I agree way to low for starting prices, and allowing to be haggled down as stated previously, so start around £7.50- £5.00, they'll still get a bargain0

Wow! That much!
Hey, you're welcome to come and buy- I've got a large box loads of unwanted gifts too (due to ultra-awkward skin). I bet I've priced these too low as well then!
BOdy Shop 4 piece set - £1.20 and Next Define 4 piece set - £1.20
I have priced the Sanctuary one at £4, as I know it's £20 in the shops (current range).
Books - large paperbacks 50p, small 30p
Toys - haven't even started pricing these, but will probably go for £1 for large (like cleaning trolley, etc) and 50p for smaller.
What about kids clothes - again, hardly worn as DS has been spoilt by being an only grandchild on one side and also he came 12 years after I was told I couldn't have any kids, so friends and everyone go OTT. He's also very cute, blonde, blue-eyed and incredibly adorable, but then I would say that
Keep prices coming..I need all the help I can get here!
Thanks!Back on the DFW Wagon:

Yeah - count me in, Rose!
Ali, your book and toiletry prices seem about right to me. Secondhand kids stuff on Ebay seems to go for £1 upwards. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. Fab, thank you - saves me re-pricing the toiletries. Phew!
What about this one - Microsoft/Fisher Price Intelligence Table! Hard to describe, but I'll try! (And cost £50 new, was a pressie). Age 6 months-5 yrs. Table with portable ring in the middle and the ring has 3 interchangeable inner rings that all have difference electronic games on them (colours, counting, noises, rhymes, etc). Battery powered (picked up a pack of 12 batteries for 99p, so will shove 4 in so people can try it out). How much for this? £5?Back on the DFW Wagon:

Ali-OK, most of your prices sound right to me, though it's always best to research locally, because prices will vary according to location. In my area, Sturgeon62's suggested prices for duvet sets and small curtains would be so OTT the customers would probably walk away without even trying to haggle, but you should be able to get £2 each for popular character kids' duvet sets, so I'd start at £3 for those.0

Just to let you know I'm back from my boot sale and made £87.80!
Big thanks for the help on pricing. Sold so much stuff within the first hour it was mayhem lol. Downside was organisers seeing a couple of my items being stolen - apparently common, but disappointing.
Found children's clothes, toys, new gifts (toiletries) all went very quickly.
Very quiet on the buyers front in general, hence home much earlier than I thought!
Time to sort for the next one, as could only fit in 18-24 months clothing and I've got up to age 6 to go, plus I put in the toys that were easy to reach, as they're stacked in boxes in the garage!Back on the DFW Wagon:
