Play.com box opened

I received my new graphics card earlier this evening, upon opening the silver courier packaging, which was sealed properly, I found the box had been opened and the void sticker was broken.

Inside the box, the little packets containing the adapters haven't been opened.

The packet containing the graphics card, has been opened, but has been resealed and it has been resealed properly with another yellow careful static blah, blah, blah sticker stuck on it.

Is it possible that play.com have opened the box to check the content as it's not a standard cheap item, like a DVD etc.

I've tried to contact play to query this, but can't get through.

did you check if it was refurbished before you bought. Just a thought ;p

No mention of it being refurbished, I wouldn't have bought it had it been.

I don't mind if they are upfront with these things and I could make a decision, but I should have been informed as it's like 2nd hand goods.

I can't see anywhere in their terms and conditions that say customer returns or refurbished products may be sent in some circumstances.

I really need to know exactly where I stand if I do decide to send it back and they try to claim that I'm the one who has opened it.

Its either 7/14 days distance selling rules where goods can be returned. Might be worth checking on the consumer boards.

Well why return if its not damaged it works perfect. Its gonna get opened anyway.

I ordered the above photo frame - which although was in a sealed bag, it had a broken SEALED sticker with an unbroken SEALED sticker over it. I didn't give it a second thought and thought they'd perhaps just tested it, as the frame seems to work fine.
