Can not uninstall several programs!!

hi, recently i had to restore my computers registry to a previous date due a registry bug. anywayz since then i can not uninstall several programs, like Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Alcohol 120% and sum others. when i go to 'Add or Remove Programs' and select 'Remove' on Adobe it shows the small Windows Installer box saying 'preparing uninstall' but then suddenly goes to a slightly larger Windows Installer box, saying

"The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available."

"Insert the 'Adobe Acrobat 6.0.2' disk and click ok"

then below there is a browse option to search for the file. now i havent got the Adobe CD, since my little bro decided the only use for it would be to use it as a frisbee, and have no clue how to uninstall it now. the other programs when uninstalling come up the same but ask for an .MSI file. im totali baffled and just want to get rid of these useless, waste of space programs. so please if anyone knows how to get rid of these then your help wud be greatly appreciated. thank you

hey thankz leesmithg, the program worked!! i finally managed to get rid of them, but just one problem, in the readme file it said that if u remove the 'Windows Installer' programs from the utility program's dialogue box then they would not appear in the 'Add or Remove Programs', i just wanted to know because they dont appear there does it mean they are fully uninstalled, because i didnt not see a change in my hard-drive space nor did i see any sort of uninstallation take place. i am afraid that the programs are still lying around the place. i have checked the programs folder they dont seem to be there, but what about system files and registry keys? will i have to search manually and then delete, 1 bi 1? thankz

Well anything that uses windows installer will show up when you open the clean up utility.

The add/remove programs should now not show the items you removed using this utility.

I doubt it will remove everything from the registry just unprotected items.

As it would not be fair on shareware program makers as it means that once the app has gone past it's trial, we could all just remove it using this utility and start a new trial.

If you didn't see much change in space, it's maybe because the folders that the apps were in are still there and need to be deleted.

I would if I was you try one of the mentioned apps by reinstalling it and see if it works properly.

Adobe acrobat reader is at version 7.0.8 you are using an older version.

Download latest version and install that first.

Might be however you have a corrupted version of windows installer or an older version that needs repairing or a new one installed.
