Hi all
HAve been with company for 18 months, but due to economic downturn & personal differences, looks like it might be time to move on, adn I am keen to start my own venture.
I was just wondering if there is any financial assisstance available to help with someone who is in this position, not grants, but like JSA (I know it's not that, as I'm not looking for work, but I hope this makes sense!!:D)
Not looking for something for nothing, would just like to know if there is any help in the early stages.
If it helps, I am in a relationship with a 6yr old dd.
Many thanks for any help!:D

does your partner work? Increase in child tax credits as your income will be reduced?0

You're in a relationship with a 6 year old???? lol.
Unless that partner lives with you then its irrelevant, if he is living with you then you shouldnt be on the benefits anyway (or at least should have notified the benefits office)
Im a single parent to a 6 year old and run my own business, and my tax credits each week is £180 for wokring 40 hours a week and earning £0 plus all the childcare I need almost fully paid for, and I am council tax exempt and get to keep all my ex's CSA of £300 a month too.
I have my own house so cant get Housing Benefit but I think I would also be entitled to Housing Benefit too if I was renting.
So working full time but earning very little can actually be more profitable than being on benefits, and you can also deduct lots of things off your tax return like travel, petrol, restaurant bills, subsistence, phone, internet, hotels, computers, etc etc etc, so its very easy to keep your income within your personal allowance and technically earn very little.
Use entitledto.com to see what the numbers would be like with tax credits if you did start your business. x0 -
