I applied for a credit card from Egg online, didn't hear anything for a couple of days then received an email saying to go on their website enter my personal details and it will show me the outcome.
Went to the website and its asks me a whole host of questions but still no message/outcome. I email them to ask what is going on and I receive a reply that I have applied twice, therefore credit scored twice? I was surprised I thought I had done only one application but apparently not. I asked them to clear the second search as it was done unkowingly and they had not given me an outcome to the first application as promissed but they refused.
They are not very helpfull, this application will affect my credit score which I am trying to build up. There must have been a system error hence no message and asking for all the information, or I made an error somehow? Either way is there anyway to get it show as one application on my credit record?
Many Thanks

When i found duplicate entrys to credit searches, i put a complaint in to experian, and they contacted them and asked them why there was two, and the one was then removed by them, you could also send them a letter telling them you didnt authorise a second search and just following what their email told you to do, and that no where in the email did it say a second search would be carried out.Awaiting Inspiration......................0
