limescale would indicate that the leak is historical. dry the pipe and see if you can see any water escaping to start with
Yeah it is definitely wet at the moment. Also, tried the 'repressurising' again and still no change in the pressure reading on the boiler. Boo hoo

Are you just turning the key? That doesn't work on its own you need to open the valve as well.

    Cheers

We inserted plastic key, turned it, then turned the grey knob next to it as per the manual (see link) so I presume the grey knob was the valve....

Some boilers like mine which is pretty much a antique Worcester combi. Has a flexi hose underneath with a tap on it your turn to repressure. No Key with our thou. Do you live in a hard water area? It could just be condensation running off he pipe sisolveing some of the plaster and redepositing it.

If you are filling it right, you can normally hear the water going into the system and the pressure gauge will increase steadily from 0.7 upwards.

If you are turning it and hearing nothing, it's not filling from what you are doing.

I am no pro, but mine only ever needs filling when water is escaping somewhere, so a slow drip on the boiler would make sense. dry it and monitor it. If it's wet again, it's leaking...

Just booked a service with a local company for Jan. The man, he says my model doesnt have a 'low pressure switch' so it will work until the pressure gets to 0 which is good to know. They are coming out in Jan and I described where the wet patch is and he reckons it will be about £30 to fix. Yay

Hi. We had our bathroom redone in April and a new radiator installed. The plumber said to watch out for the boiler pressure decreasing. It used to be around one and I suddenly noticed today it's around 0.7... do you think this is due to the radiator? I've not noticed any leaks from it and heating still seems to be working fine

Unfortunately we can't call the same plumber as he had a breakdown shortly after doing our bathroom lol

I mean, that's not funny, but it's why I'm asking on a forum!!

My boiler is behaving exactly the same way. Is that why the fire turns of intermittently, resulting in hot and slightly cold water when showering:mad:?

If thats the case, can anyone recommend a plumber or GasSafe person in Loughton, Essex?:j

    Thanks

We've not experienced an on/off problem with the pilot light yet so I'd say that's definitely worth looking at.... :-o

I found the company I'm using off Worcester's website

It will become a problem, as many boilers shut down if the pressure drops to 0.6 or so and it won't work till the pressure is put back up.
I've got a vaillent eco-max and it loses all pressure within a couple of weeks of it being repressurised. I am also quite lazy and quite often leave it at zero bar for months on end. The reason I can do this, is that the boiler runs perfectly ok regardless. I know it does not make sense but for some reason it can operate with no water pressure. Is this supposed to be possible?
