Seriously. I'm well versed in the law. It was my job.

I don't mean to blow my own trumpet but you should believe me before anything you find on the net. Yes, It looks like you found it on the JCP website but I guarantee they have either simplified it or not consulted someone who knows. Like me.

~Laughs~ What exactly did you do then..

Spent many years as a labour market decision maker. The question of students is one of availability, which is a labour market question.

I've done appeals too, and presented them to commissioners.

Trust me, if you have to google this subject then you really don't want to argue the toss with me.

~Laughs~ who said i am argueing with you. I am just stating my experience as i have/am currently going through this process. There are also other parts to the process which you have to go through or at least i did. I had to go and see an advisor outside of the jobcentre to discuss the course (Nextstep i think it was) with and they had to fill out some paperwork which relates to my past working experience and how this particular course i wanted to do can benefit me. I also got a call from someone examining my application that was based in london (i am on the isle of wight) who said they wanted proof of jobs in my area that were being advertised which by doing this course i would be in a better position to apply for. I don't know if this relates to every course but i got the feeling that if it was a course that had no relation to my previous work expericene or locally advertised jobs the chances of getting the funding would have been much harder.

Please can we be nice to posters, especially those that are taking the time out to give advice, even if you do not agree with them. Of course any advice given should be researched before acting on it by going to the CAB or the DWP, but dooker and dmg are very imformative posters and usually give accurate information.

aj2703, I have no idea what problem you have with me, but please take it away from the boards. Your comments are not welcome.
