Used Clinique Repairwear day and night cream for about 6 months, didn't feel it ever did much for me tbh, bearing in mind the price and swapped to Protect and Perform , which made a marked difference to my skin almost immediately. Have been using P&P very happily for over a year now.

I love their foundations though, excellent products and well worth the money!

Whilst I love Clinique make up, I am not a big fan of their skincare. I find their cleansing products far too harsh. I had a really bad reaction to their three step cleaning regime and had to see a doctor. I have slightly sensitive skin, but had never had a reaction like that before. Their moisturisers are okay, but I don't think they are any better than brands like Nivea.

I use the Avene range which really suits my skin.
  • I found the three step programme too harsh for me as well. Their toner uses a high concentration of alcohol, thats why you feel like its stripping off your skin. My skin is normally very well behaved, but I broke out very badly when using their moisturiser.

Am still searching around for the perfect skincare regime, am now using Organic Surge which I found in Boots and I like the rose scent in the face wash :p Doesn't feel like my skin is too tight after washing it off, which is a plus!

I use Liz Earle as do a lot of others on this forum - although it isn't cheap, it works out quite a bit cheaper than Clinique I think (??) and is much gentler. Also, I'm really lazy with my skincare and find that the hot cloth cleanser method feels a lot less hassle than the alternative (though LE isn't the only brand which uses this method). I've given up on LE's own muslin cloths though, as they're small and flimsy - I bought a pack of muslin squares from Mothercare and I use them folded into quarters. Because this makes them really thick and heavy, they retain the heat of the hot water brilliantly.

The most cost-effective way of trying a lot of products from the range is to wait until QVC next has them on a Today's Special Value deal (next one's due in Jan or Feb) when you'll get a selection pack, usually with full size versions of the key items and trial/travel size of a lot of the other products, for around £30-£35. Even with the very steep P&P rates it always works out a good deal.

I like Clinique's moisture surge, had every other skin care from them and it didn't agree with my skin.

Actually, I forgot this in previous post. I do have Clinque's moisture surge...the eye stuff in that range makes my eye puff, but its great for DH, and the moisturiser is ok, a nice srping/summer for me: lighter then the Estee Lauder Day wear, and its a nice consistancy. I don't think its worth it unless on an offer though: over other simialr brands of skin care (I bought mine in lfight or duty free, with the eye stuff and a lip balm...loads of better things for lips.)

  • I haven't tried clarins, is it any good for (really) dry skin?

    katiex

My skin gets very dry, tight and flaky, especially in summer/winter. The clarins stuff was the only thing that provided relief all day. So I think it is very good.

  • I love Clinique skin care, I have the 3 Step system and the facial soap makes me feel so clean & noticeably brightens my skin.

I also like the Simple's cleanse, tone & moisturiser.

I like the cleansing soap and the dramatically different moisturser but the toner is horrid, very stripping.

My favourite stuff at the moment is Eve Lom - like Bargain Rzl, I like the hot cloth cleansing method :)
