Can somebody tell me what the difference is between Google and Google Chrome and is there any advantage .

Google is a search engine, Google Chrome is a web browser.

The advantage of Google Chrome (as opposed to Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc) is apparently that it was built to handle Web applications more efficiently. So if you use Google Docs for example, it should be faster.

That's the theory anyway.

Apparently it runs more processes than most browsers so it may be better on multi core machines.

When they include an ad blocker I'll give it a go
