Hi All,
I just got the above breadmaker from Freecycling, it looks nice lots of buttons for making jam etc....but i havent got a recipe book or any instructions. I've tried searching the internet but can't even find a website for the manufacturer let alone anything else. From look at the control pad on it, i think it has 1.5lb loaf tin in it.
I really want to get started but just don't know how....
Also, what is the best yeast to use, i use to use the dried packet stuff....where you just scoop out a teaspoon full.
Best Regards
Donna

Morning Donna
Not familiar with that brand of machine, but the main difference in makes tends to be that some makes of machine require that the dry ingredients are put into the machine before the wet ingredients and in my machine, the wet ingredients need to go in before the dry ingredients.
As you are not certain which way round your machine expects you to put the ingredients in, you will have to risk a couple of experiments. Try one basic bread recipe by adding the fluids first and dry on top then vice versa.
Here are some threads that may help you:- both links above came from the OS indexes but particularly under the Complete Breadmaking Collection
You could try asking at your local library for this book:- Fresh Bread In the Morning, Annette Yates - which has excellent recipes and instructions, (once you know which way round you add your ingredients for that particular machine) because it also tells you which bread setting to use. Also has a lovely section explaining why some common problems occur.
Well done on using Freecycle and getting your BM :T Wishing you all the best in getting up and started.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sometimes the manufacturer will send out the booklet that came with the machine free of charge. It's worth a phone call.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

A search showed up that it might be Prima that make these. They're listed on ebay under Prima anyway.
Their web page, linked below, has an option to download manuals but these breadmakers aren't listed so you'll have to use their contact page to ask.
Let us know how you get on

Hi All,
I had a couple of goes over the weekend, the first wasn't too bad, but i think the cycle was too short....the longest cycle is about 4hrs 20mins, and is marked as a large 1.5lb wholemeal loaf, although when i select this nothing seems to happen...v.strange i think, i waited half an hour, but it didnt even start to mix.
My mind makes me think that maybe the instructions would shed some light.....so i'm off to the website to have a look....lol.
Theres loads of settings on it, would be a shame if i cudn't figure out how to use it, as apparently it makes jam and everything. I was thining that maybe the wholemeal settings requrie you to use the dough setting first, then the appearingly doing nothing time would possibly be the first rise? Does that sound like a possibility?
Best Regards

Hi Taplady,
I dont suppose you could offer some advise...i've emailed the supposed maunfacturer and am waiting for a reply, but tried to bake yet another non rising loaf last night
I was using the basic recipe from the BM thread as follows:
260g Water
460g Flour
2tsp Sugar
2tsp salt
7g yeast
2tbsp Oil
I have tried on both the plain 1.5lb loaf setting, and i tried the wholemeal 1.5lb loaf setting, as that cycle was longer....but still quite dense bread....i really really want to use it...lol, so any light you could shed would be great?
Best Regards

I have to admit that we never used any of the recipes in the book!:o
I always use one I found on here and ita worked fine in both my breadmakers.
460g strong breadflour
260g water (I weigh it on the scales -sounds strange but works!)
2 tablespoons oil (vegetable- I use rapeseed)
2 tablespoons dried skimmed milk powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 sachet yeast
The water needs to be warm but not hot. This is how I do it.Put the water in the pan, then the oil.Add half the flour then the other dry ingredients but NOT the yeast.Add the rest of the flour then make a well in the top of the flour and add the yeast and thats it! I used the white programme.
When making brown bread I use the same recipe but use half brown and half white flour and add a crushed vitamin C tablet.I still use the white programme and it came out fine. The only other tip I can offer is to have good scales(mine are digital) and to use measuring spoons. It is vital to be acurate with the measuring.
I used this with my Millers choice and now mums got it she does the same.If you like you can add seeds when the beeper goes off mid cycle.
I hope this helps.Let me know how you get on!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Thanks Taplady...i think i'll give it another go...i;ve got allison dried active yeast, which may be the problem so i'll go try and get something else to try. It just seems the best value for money at the time....

I Just thought i would up date everyone here...when i got home from work yesterday there was a big brown envelope waiting for me...guess what? Yup, a nice manual from the manufacturer so i'm breamaker happy again,
I had a quick read through (somethings were a bit strange - it was advising to use 250ml of milk instead of water in the plain loaf recipe), but i can now make jam and everything thanks to the booklet.
I shot off to the shop to get some more flour, and decided to try a different yeast, seen as my bread wasn't rising....3 hours later, a lovely golden loaf...fantastic.
I think i'll still pop it on a longer cycle to get a bit more rise out of it though, as the top was quite flat and didnt bake over the top of the tin. But its tastes and smells delicious.
I was just wondering, if anyone knew what breadmakers were like on the electricity bill? As the likelyhood for me will be a loaf a day at least?
Best Regards
