JSA and Self-employment

I've been to my local CAB about this. I will be working on a self employed basis for around 12-15 hours per week.
As you are aware, being self-employed means you cannot 'predict' how much you will earn each week.
I will not be paid until the 1st of each month.
Therefore, how will this work with my JSA claim? I can't see the jobcentre paying me fortnightly if I cannot prove how much I have earnt.

What was the advice the CAB gave you? I dont wish to be rude but if they have given you advice that you dont think is correct when they have access to a massive amount of information then maybe you should query it with them.
If they are not sure then perhaps you should speak to JC+ and see what their ruling will be?
The issue you may have is that you will not be able to claim JSA as you will be restricting the number of hours you are available for work and you will have to prove you are actively seeking other work as well.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
My CAB meeting was very fruitful.
I enquired as to whether I am entitled to JSA whilst being self-employed- and they said 'yes'.
I was more interested in how I can prove my earnings on a fortnightly basis when I do not get paid until 1st of each month.......?0
