ipod calendar help!

I have managed to sync my ipod calendar with google calendar but only new events that I put onto my ipod show up on google.
I have hundreds of events already on my ipod calendar which I want to put onto google calendar but can't find out how to do it.
I have googled until my fingers are ready to drop off but can only find info on how to transfer from google to ipod and not the other way round!!
Any ideas?
