PPP on secure loan

I havent read the whole thread but if the PPI is single premium and added to the loan then you are looking at a 90%+ success rate on complaints at the FOS in these cases.
PPI should be set up as monthly payments.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Thank you both - they are monthly payments and it was my first letter. They advised I could ring if I wished to discuss it further. I'll therefore reiterate my complaint and send the 2nd letter.
Thank you again. Rachel0 -
Hi, I posted letter 2 off to Barclays on the 3rd Feb stipulating that if they did not contact me within 14 days I would go to the odbudsman. This expires tomorrow if using calendar days and I still have heard nothing.
Should I claim to the Ods by the end of this week or give them the benefit of the doubt and allow 14 working days?
Kind regards. Rachel0 -
Hi,
I've rec'd a response from Barclays with the following:
They are proposing to cancel the PPI policy with necessary adjustment to the loan to put it in the position as if the PPI had not been taken.
Offering a full refund plus interest paid on the premium to date to be applied to the balance of the loan. They are advising they will return to me the part of the monthly payments made towards the PPI but have not provided a figure for this unless I sign a form advising I accept the offer.
The point out it is a goodwill gesture without prejudice with no admission of liability.
They also advise that their communication should be viewed as their final response in relation to this matter with the option of Finance Odbus if still dissatisfied.
I'd like to think this is a good response and would like to accept the offer but I don't know how much they are preparing to refund.
Please help.
Kind regards. Rachel0 -

it sounds like a good result and offer.
i would ring/write to them and explain you are considering thier offer, but to do so properly you require an explanation detailing the figures before you sign anything.

Ask them to make sure they send you a detailed written breakdown. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thank you both - could I not sign the form and request the breakdown - would this be ill advised?0

Ask them to send the breakdown to you as soon as possible.
Have they given you a timescale to accept or not?
If not then if they could supply the breakdown of how they are going to do this would be a great help to you first.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
