in Credit cards
Just done a Capital 1 application online, it asked to sign an online agreement, but no decision on screen. I did ring up and was told they were waiting for info from credit reference agencies. have checked with Experian and equifax and searches have been made. do they ever decline instantly online?

do can decline instantly but what may happen here is that they write to you requesting further info or might just send a lette.... after careful consideration, we regret to advie you etc etc
lastly, you may just get the good news and as u have signed electronically, they may just send you the card!!!

I applied for the classic card, I have had a phone contract for over 6 years, bank account for over 5 years, I was hoping that 1 minute decision thing would have happened. I've delved into older posts and quite a few posters got the 3 blue circles and the last one was credit reference.
So thought oh here comes the decision. They have checked with both Experian and Equifax,so pretty thorugh arn't they.
I applied for the Halifax reward account but was declined, so much for them given you a sort code and account number on applying, bit misleading. will let you know the result:o0 -
I applied two weeks ago and had the same thing happen to me.
Never heard anything till last thursday i received pin number.0 -

Today received a letter from Cap1 declining me, and in the letter they are pointing at my fella's files, we have a dormant Nationwide current account together so a link. But my OH has checked his files and they have definitely not checked him as a financial link:mad: So have sent the letter back to them and wrote on the front BOLLards bit ruder but you get the picture:eek:0

They turned me down instantly several times before finally granting me a card. I suspect they were fed up with my periodic applications and relented, because my credit limit was only £100.
That was in March 2008 - and it has never been increased despite my using the card and keeping my account beyond reproach. Well, it is not too difficult when your limit is only £100.
I did ask them a few months ago why no increase when their blurb states a credit limit increase after 4 months of satisfactory use but the reply was that they were unable to give me one.
I am not bothered about it now. I still use the account, but have since been able to obtain 3 mainstream cards with a total of some £4000 credit available, so capital one is no longer important to me.0 -
took me over 11 years to get one start with £100 limit now at £2000

I had one with 200 start when 18-kept it for a few years and closed it as never increased, went back a year later they gave me £1k, now £15000
