Decorating question...

Options
Hi,

I'm in the middle of decorating my daughters bedroom and having stripped off the wallpaper I was planning on painting the walls rather than putting paper back up. However having stripped the paper off I've found lots of little holes caused by one of those wallpaper 'scorers', (not guilty as I used a steamer!).

Anyway my question is can anyone suggest the best way to get rid of these, I've tried using filler but there are so many holes it would take forever, I pondered buying some of that smooth-over stuff from Polyfil but I'm not sure whether it'll work. Ideally it needs re-skimming but I was hoping to find away around it without having to hire a plasterer.

So any ideas on the best way to deal with this?

Thanks
Josie

wouldn't recommend the smooth over stuff after reading this forum a few months back ... lots of people were on here saying how bad it was (done a search but couldn't find the thread!)

not sure what to suggest for the holes .. had the same problem here and in th end we resorted to wallpaper to cover them up

had this problem in our spare room once we took off the paper looked like someone once had a dart board on the wall..... it took forever but I bought fine already mixed filler and just kept on filling and filling ... everytime I thought I was done the light changed and a whole new selection of holes appeared.... just keep the filler handy and keep going till they are all filled....the room looks great without paper on the walls much more modern and stylish

Why don't you line them you can buy a quad roll in Homebase for about a fiver it would look so much better then emulsion over the top of it , looks classy too, just like new walls
I used to be confused, now I just don't understand ;) :rotfl:

Sorry for the delay in replying, I took Taniths advice and got some fine filler and am very surprised how well it has turned out. I've given it a good sand and it looks great.

    Thanks
