Barclays Vote

Hi all,

Over the last couple of weeks I have read some amazing posts regarding Barclays and Barclaycard.

Most of which really naughty or very disturbing.

Out of all my creditors Barclaycard where the hardest to deal with and still are even though Br.

Let me know your thoughts and experiences and any one who has a good story.

  • Barclaycard were one of dh's creditors and have been a total pain.

They started phoning immediately the payment was late, on dh's work phone, and despite him asking them repeatedly not to they continued doing so, sometimes as many as 8 times in one day with that stupid automated message they have which tells him to call them as he has not spoken to them, which was rubbish.

He is not able to turn his phone off as it is his works and he cannot call out on either so he was stuck with it,

On Saturday they started at 8am, and the last one was at 8.30 pm, there were 10 calls in total, all this despite the fact that dh had spoken to someone on Thursday and she had assured him a stop would be put on the account. They called again at 1.15pm on Sunday and dh tore them off a strip.

Monday we went to court, and came home to 5 missed calls!! So he rang them, and then had a huge argument with the person on the phone, who tried to insist that they needed to keep all his details and would be phoning him again about this!

My dh is usually a very laid back and calm man, but he went a little bit mad at this and told the person that there had better not be any more calls or there would be trouble, so far so good no calls yesterday.

Oh and it took him around 20 minutes to get through to the person that he was BR and give the details, there seemed to be a complete lack of understanding, it was very frustrating.

I am less than impressed with Barclaycard and will never have anything to do with them again.

AND!! We have had to endure phone calls on our landline from them for someone we have never heard of, it took me 4 months and a threat of legal action to get them to stop, they are the pits as far as I am concerned.

And don't get me started on EGG!!!!

Anyway, have to go to get sons from school now, but thanks for starting a thread I could rant on sizzler!! :D

Well , my oh experiences are that the barclayloan guys are professional and courteous and correspond by letter , its being passed to the collections team though so dont know how long that will last.......But Bcard , now what a bunch of !!!!!! they are , we assume they have non UK call centres? as random indian sounding guys call at any time they fancy all weekend , and say sorry , it`s all automated , telling them we have asked in writing and verablly to keep things in writing , is as much good as an ashtray on a motorbike , it is literally like talking to a robot...

We like bcards cute way of trying to get round you by brightly sayin Hi ! followed by my oh first name only , as if they are really good mates....

Non stop hassle from barclaycard and their collections dept...as well as daily calls for nearly 6mnths after my bankruptcy trying to tell me my overdrawn current account "didnt fall into my bankruptcy" so they could tecnically pursue still....eventually the OR & OFT told them to take a running jump...I received a cheque as an apology

disgusting way they treat both old & new customers..

    Love it.

Sounds like they are not our favourites.

Lets see what others have to say.

Im going to say the same.

I opened a barclays account as a youngster with the Hula Hoop promotion, £5 free woop woop. 10yrs later and they were ruining my life along with barclaycard. 15yrs later and im a free man. Up yours berkleys!

Hi, we dont seem to have had too many problems with barclays so far, when we went BR we owed them quite a bit with 2 ODs, 2 loans and a secured loan  but there is no way i would have opened one of their bank accounts afterwards, too much of a risk of them helping themselves to what is in the account, i thought that before i came on here and now i have seen what they do to others i am very relieved i went with my instincts!
