Problem with win 7 and monitor?

Just put Windows 7 on pc. Monitor is a Viewsonic VX922. I can't get a sharp picture, everything is kinda 3D- ish. Very annoying when you're trying to read words.
There's no driver for Win 7 on the Viewsonic site, only for XP and Vista. Windows update had a driver but it's done nothing.
Any suggestions?

try changing the resolution. Experiment till you can see properly.

You shouldn't really need a driver for the monitor, but LCD's only look right at their native (max) resolution. If it's still not right then look at the graphics card drivers.0

Looks like that monitor should be 1280x1024 probably 60Hz. And are you using the DVI connection not the VGA.0

Resolution is what it should be.
Just downloaded new NVidia driver, it seems to have helped a little but words are still not that sharp and clear. I hated Vista with a vengeance but at least I had a clear screen then.
Any other setting in particular I should look at? There is a 3d setting but changing that doesn't help either.
Using DVI btw.Herman - MP for all!

You seem to have got the main things covered. Down to some trial and error now I suppose:
You could try turning up the refresh rate - LCD's used to always be 60, but some newer ones seem to use 75.
Check the colour depth is set to 32 bit
We are assuming that the monitor is ok, but any chance of connecting it to another PC, or trying a different monitor on yours - that would narrow things down.
Try connecting with VGA. It's not as good as the DVI you are using, but I have seen faults appear on just one of the inputs.0 -
Colour is set to 32, altering refresh rate doesn't change things.
I do have another monitor but am unable to try it today, will get it out tomorrow and see if it makes any difference. Also have a vga cable but will have to hunt it out first. (In this house it could be anywhere )
Thanks for the help. :beer:Herman - MP for all!
